June 13th - Update on Pastor Jojo

We serve the God of miracles! We celebrate the victories along this journey of faith where every little miracle is one step closer to complete healing and wholeness.

Pastor Jojo went into the ICU just over a month ago on May 12. Since our last update, she has received a feeding tube and a trach that has gradually been reduced in size over time.

Last week, she was moved to a long-term acute care facility. There, her caretakers are kindly and expertly attending to her daily needs and physical therapy. Our prayer is that she receives the best care possible and that the Lord continues to order her steps in full recovery and rehabilitation.

Pastor Jojo is more alert every day, staying awake for hours at a time. She has shown her big smile and continues moving her mouth showing that she wants to communicate. She is focusing her eyes more on individuals who are speaking to her. She was able to chew and swallow pieces of ice this week demonstrating that those functions are gently returning. Her trach may be removed this week as she is breathing fully on her own and is able to cough, clear her throat, and swallow on her own!

In this new facility, her children have been allowed to visit in the room with their mother. Pastor Tobin is giving each child individual time with her in a quiet environment where they can share special time together. Baby Indigo was brought into her room this week. Family members helped her position her arms to hold him. Unprovoked, she brought her arms up to snuggle him with her face and nuzzled him close.

Baby Indigo is almost 7 pounds! Continue to pray that his body continues to grow in perfect health with every level and function of his body showing great progress.

We leave you with this encouragement from Pastor Tobin:

"Every day we continue to cry out "TODAY LORD" and then we wait on Him. Along the way he gives us miracle after miracle. If He says “Process” then we respond “Accelerate”. If He says “Today” then we respond “Full and complete." Jojo is more alert each day. We thank God for this and continue to cry out that she WILL FULLY EMERGE... We know she’s coming home having recovered ALL and THEN SOME!!! Bless God, shame the devil."

We continue to contend for her full miracle of wholeness and declare that there will be NOTHING LOST in the name of Jesus. Pray that, while she is healing, her mind and body will be at peace and that she will live, move, and have her being (Acts 17) in abundant measure.

She is a living testimony of the goodness of God.

June 5th - Update on Pastor Jojo

The Lord is great and greatly to be praised!

As we await a mighty miracle for Pastor Jojo, we are constantly reminded in our times of prayer of the intricate design that our Creator crafted in each one of us. He is the Master of artistry and architecture: from the tiniest atom to the complexities of the human body to the vastness of nature and every galaxy, His works are beyond our full comprehension. We praise Him for we are fearfully and wonderfully made! He is intentional in every way.

Pastor Jojo is receiving excellent care and continues to astound us with movements and responses that reports say she should be unable to do. Doctors cannot fully explain why she has passed her pain test (inflicting pain in her feet which caused her legs to respond in movement) and other small victories along the way.

We continue to contend for her brain to be completely awakened so that she can rise out of the hospital bed, walk, and function as daughter, wife, mother, and worshipper.

While they are in the hospital, Pastor Tobin and family members visiting with them are encountering many who are touched by their story. This is opening opportunities to share the love of Jesus Christ. JESUS is being magnified to believers and nonbelievers alike.

Baby Indigo Evangel Shoemate has grown and developed so well that he has been released from the NICU. He is at home being cared for by family members until he can be reunited with Mom and Dad.

This week, the older Shoemate children are enjoying a week of camp and time with extended family!

May 23rd - Update on Pastor Jojo

Throughout this journey of healing, Pastor Tobin asks us to send up high praises and we wholeheartedly give Him the honor He is due as Creator, Sustainer, Wonderful Counselor, and Mighty God!

Today, we are in awe of every part of Pastor Jojo's progress.

• She had a procedure yesterday that went very well with no complications.
• In addition to opening her eyes these last few days, she has also moved her head, opened her mouth multiple times, moved her arm across her chest, and responded to pain in her hand.

Targeted prayer point for today:

• As her brain is restored, her body begins to respond with specific, notable, independent, intentional MOVEMENTS. Wake up and MOVE.

As you continue to pray:

• Complete healing of the brain. Nothing lost in Jesus' name.
• Pastor Jojo will be an active participant in her healing with full focus and no fear. 
• Favor with their insurance company, case manager, and all those involved in this level and the next level of her care. 
• Continued strength and growth for Baby Indigo.
• Wisdom and wellness for Pastor Tobin. 
• Peace and wellness for their family, immediate and extended. 
• Supernatural faith as we agree together for every miracle along the way. 
• Pastor Jojo will testify of God's goodness, bringing glory to God, the lost to accept Christ, prodigals to come home, unlock breakthrough in believers, and release healing to the nations!

May 20th - Update on Pastor Jojo

For every single miracle along the way, we give God the glory! In addition to what He has already done, the Lord has been speaking through His Word and prophetically through the body of Christ, encouraging our hearts and building our faith in the waiting.

Her body is recovering beautifully -- one doctor expressed her progress as "supernatural and rapid healing". Her brain activity is our current prayer directive. While the MRI report showed significant damage, the actions and reactions she has exhibited even this morning are showing that her brain is engaged in ways that are unexplainable for which we give God all of the praise!

In the next 7 days, we challenge you to let go of all doubt and human reasoning. Decree the Word of the Lord. Our God is working around the clock when we can see it and when we cannot. Her care plan will remain the same this week as we believe for the miraculous hand of God to complete this healing work. We believe that Pastor Jojo is moving from a time of rest to being an active participant in her healing. Let your faith rise! He is the God of the impossible!

May 17th - Update on Pastor Jojo

On May 10th, Pastor Jojo gave birth by emergency C-section. On May 12th, she went into cardiac arrest from a blood clot and underwent extensive CPR. While she has endured surgeries and sedation, she has also experienced miracles of her eyes opening and body movements as she has slowly shown signs that God has indeed spared her life.

Last night, Pastor Jojo was able to receive an MRI to scan her brain for neurological activity. The report shows that there is extensive brain damage. Pastor Tobin has asked the medical team to allow her to remain in the Medical ICU through the weekend in order to give him time to pray, process, and seek wisdom regarding a treatment plan for her continued care. He has asked that the body of Christ bombard Heaven this weekend. He is believing for a miracle of epic proportions and we, as his church family, are in full agreement with him.

May 15th - Update on Pastor Jojo

PRAISES:

• Baby Indigo is in Pastor Jojo's room today so he is enjoying time with Mom and Dad!
• Pastor Jojo has opened her eyes! This is an incredible first step on the road to recovery!

PRAYERS:

• Strength and full function of her kidneys as the medications flush out of her system.
• Continued prayer for her entire body to be cleared of clots, bleeding issues, and anything that would cause complications as her health improves.

May 14th - Update on Pastor Jojo

PRAISES:

• Her swelling went down immensely during the night.
• She was placed on a medication to treat any remaining part of the pulmonary embolism. It did not trigger new or additional bleeding.
• Her liver seems to be doing well since the surgery yesterday.

PRAYERS:

• Pray that her kidneys continue to respond well. They are getting strong and need to get stronger. (There is no current threat of the need for dialysis).
• That tomorrow's follow up surgery will be completely successful without furthering any complications or the need for more procedures.
• When sedation is removed in the coming days, we pray that Pastor Jojo will wake up. We stand in agreement that there will be NOTHING LOSS of brain activity or any neurological damage from going into cardiac arrest.
• Continue to pray that baby Indigo grows healthy and strong while in the NICU.
• Pray for their immediate and extended family to be filled with peace and courage while we await the next miracle in this journey.

May 13th - Update on Pastor Jojo

Indigo Evangel Shoemate was born on Friday, May 10th, at over 4lbs! He was born early by emergency c-section and is spending time in the NICU while he grows. His health is doing very well!

Pastor JoJo's medical team was watching her blood pressure closely as she had issues with this during the pregnancy and it was the reason for the urgent c-section. The birth went well. On Sunday, she passed out and stopped breathing. The medical team moved immediately to CPR and intubate her so that she would have airflow to the brain.

After further testing, the medical team found a pulmonary embolism and were able to remedy that situation once it was found. Her heart rate and blood pressure returned on its own. She was placed on a machine to oxygenate her blood, another machine to allow her heart and lungs to rest, and received a blood transfusion. She was placed under sedation while her body stabilized through the night.

This morning, they found that she had lost a significant amount of blood through the night and took her into surgery to locate the internal bleeding. In surgery, the medical team found the source of the bleeding and stopped it! Her heart is now beating on its own. We await a report on her neurological status and her overall recovery plan from the trauma her body has been through. We are believing for complete healing in her body.

As you pray, believe that nothing will be lost. Believe for wholeness and peace for the Shoemate family. Pray that Pastor Tobin and Pastor JoJo receive the rest that they need. Pray that each one of their children feel the closeness of our Heavenly Father until they can be reunited with the mother and newest brother, Indigo.
